- 소개/요약Reviews the book, Meditation — Neuroscientific Approaches and Philosophical Implications edited by Stefan Schmidt and Harald Walach (see record 2013-44962-000). The chapters of the book are the offspring of a meeting in Germany. As its title partly implies, this volume focuses on neuro-scientific approaches to meditation, although other perspectives are covered including the ontology of meditative experience, first-person research methodologies, the experience of time, hypnosis, mind-wandering, and practical and pedagogical applications of meditation. The book does not have a clear organization and would have benefited from one. The level of writing is good in some chapters, particularly those by some English native speakers, and deficient to very bad in the contributions of some non-native speakers. The book has some very good chapters but it would have been a better book with a clear organization and about one third fewer chapters. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2017 APA, all rights reserved)
