  • 소개/요약Dysregulated behaviors are also known as impulsive, addictive, or self-destructive behaviors. When therapists hear the term dysregulated behavior, they often think of substance misuse, eating-disordered behavior, nonsuicidal self-injury, or issues with anger/aggression. This book helps therapists improve the lives of clients who struggle with dysregulated behavior. It provides guidelines for conducting mindfulness and modification therapy (MMT), a transdiagnostic treatment for dysregulated behavior that can be customized to target each client's specific needs and behaviors. MMT was developed to help clients move past their suffering and move closer to lives that feel fulfilling and meaningful. MMT also addresses constructs that underlie dysregulated behavior, as well as related issues with treatment engagement and motivation. The book presents time- and cost-effective strategies for helping clients break free of dysregulated behaviors– such as substance abuse, binge eating, compulsive spending, and aggression– and build more fulfilling, meaningful lives. MMT integrates mindfulness practices with elements of motivational interviewing, dialectical behavior therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and other evidence-based approaches. It can be used as a stand-alone treatment or a precursor to more intensive therapy. In a convenient large-size format, the book includes session-by-session implementation guidelines, case examples, practical tips, guided mindfulness practices, and 81 reproducible client handouts and therapist sheets. MMT strategically integrates key principles and techniques from six treatments with evidence for treating dysregulated behavior: motivational interviewing, mindfulness-based relapse prevention, dialectical behavior therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and mentalization-based psychotherapy. By systematically focusing these evidence-based principles and techniques on dysregulated behavior, MMT provides a cohesive protocol for implementing these components strategically and efficiently.
