  • 소개/요약Wisdom and compassion have been fundamental to Buddhist psychology and other introspective traditions for at least the past 2,500 years, both as core concepts and as practical paths to liberation from suffering. Over the last two decades, Buddhist psychology in particular has converged with modern psychotherapy to a remarkable extent, primarily in the form of empirically supported mindfulness- and acceptance-based treatments. As the personal and professional practice of mindfulness ripens for many therapists, interest in finding new ways to understand and see our way through complex life circumstances (wisdom) and open our hearts to suffering (compassion) is also growing. Indeed, wisdom and compassion may be seen as the fruition of mindfulness practice. This book explores how wisdom and compassion comingle at both the relative level—in the day-to-day experience of psychotherapy— and at the absolute level—in our fundamental, unconditioned nature.
