Its mission is:to preserve and promote the Buddhadharma through the teaching and practice of Soto Zen Buddhism in North America;to facilitate trust, respect, communication, ethical conduct, and education among the many sanghas of Soto Zen lineages and in the wider community;to compassionately widen the transmission of Dogen Zenji and Keizan Zenji’s practice and understanding in the Western World.
