- 소개/요약This study focuses on the way the retreat of Ganhwa Seon(GS), one of Korean Buddhist traditional practice, leads to psychotherapeutic and religious experience. Eleven Buddhist monks participated the retreat of GS in a Ahnkook Zen Center. Participants were interviewed on their internal experience during the practice, and the result was analysed through CQR. The internal experience was categorized into 2 domains: Critical Experience, Interpretation of Experience of GS. Participants interpreted their experience of GS as a purification of their karma or an experience of their real nature. They understood a role of Huotou as an agency of concentration, a means of raising question and emotion or opening a door of unconsciousness. The mechanism of GS and a model of mind suggested by GS experience were also discussed.
