  • 소개/요약The purpose of this study is to empirically elucidate the similarities and differences between focusing and mindfulness in everyday life. 210 female college students responded to a questionnaire about daily focusing manner, mindfulness, cognitive control of thought, rumination, refl ection, decentering, authenticity, and cognitive processes of emotion. Statistical analyses (i.e., correlational analysis, analysis of variance, hierarchical cluster analysis, correspondence analysis, loglinear model analysis) revealed remarkable similarities and differences between focusing and mindfulness. It proved that while a feature of mindfulness, in common with focusing, is psychologically to keep a distance from negative emotions/ thoughts and fi nally accept them as they are, a feature of focusing is to make a further search into the meaning of them through logically refl ecting on and making expression of them in words, instead of evading them as mindfulness does.
