  • 소개/요약Regulative music therapy (RMT) is a passive music therapy technique in which participants direct the conscious mind towards three elements: music, body, and thought. Each area must receive equal attention; therefore, participants must learn to concentrate on the appropriate areas to regulate their inadequate tension.Several studies have shown RMT to be useful for self-awareness and decentering. However, RMT is mental training in the appropriate way of using one's conscious, and the inner process of RMT seems complicated and incomprehensible to beginners. In this article, I explained an actual procedure of RMT in detail for the convenience of new practitioners. I gave an overview of much of the research on RMT and perspectives on future RMT studies. I also pointed out the similarity between RMT and vipassana meditation through a mindfulness exercise which guides practitioners to a state of mindfulness.
