- 소개/요약The aim of both Yogācāra-Vijñaptimātra thought and mindfulness psychology is to use words to scrutinize the causes of suffering and to provide younger practitioners or clients with a methodology that will lead them to a better state. Just as the Yogācāra-Vijñaptimātra school collected and systematized the experiences of large numbers of practitioners and formulated theories based on them, so too does mindfulness psychology conduct training courses, aggregate and analyze the responses to questionnaires, and formulate theories for guiding clients, in which case it would seem to me that the problems being tackled by both Yogācāra-Vijñaptimātra thought and mindfulness psychology and their approaches to these problems have much in common.Since Yogācāra-Vijñaptimātra thought and mindfulness psychology are practical theories that derive from a method of practice taught by Śākyamuni, it may be only natural that there are similarities between them. Be that as it may, both are, I believe, effective and useful methods that answer the needs of many people wishing to reduce to even some small degree the stresses of contemporary society.
