- 소개/요약Adolescence is a transitional stage of physical and psychological development and a challenging time for many youth. A review of our emergency department (ED) statistics indicated that middle school-aged students make up a large percentage of youth referred to the ED for mental health issues. Building mental health awareness into middle school curriculum may prevent problems from escalating to ED visits. We aim to do the following: 1) increase awareness in middle school-aged students with regard to mental health issues and provide them with knowledge of preventive measures and coping skills by incorporating psychoeducation into their regular curriculum; and 2) examine the effectiveness of this psychoeducation curriculum.
