  • 소개/요약While a complex relationship between mindfulness and positive emotions has been suggested, most studies have relied on retrospective trait measures. To examine the relationship between state mindfulness and positive emotions in a natural context, 100 university students rated their state mindfulness and positive emotions five times per day for a week. Hierarchical linear models were conducted to test the interrelations between state mindfulness and positive emotions at different time points. It confirmed that positive emotions at t predicted more positive emotions at t + 2 via higher state mindfulness at t + 1. Also, state mindfulness was associated with higher state mindfulness at t + 2 point via more positive emotions at t + 1. Findings implied an upward spiral process between state mindfulness and positive emotions. State mindfulness and positive emotions appeared to reciprocally enhance one another with the characteristic dynamics of an upward spiral.
