- 소개/요약Asperger’s syndrome (AS) is a form of autism where the person experiences significant challenges in interacting socially, expressing non-verbal communication, and demonstrating empathy. People with AS may engage in repetitive patterns of behavior or have interests that are rigid, further limiting them socially. Approximately 1 in 4,000 persons are diagnosed with AS, with a greater prevalence in males. The syndrome differs from other forms of autism in that people with this diagnosis are able to maintain language and cognitive skills. Treatment strategies are most often directed at improving symptoms and individual functioning.Many people with AS have written books about their personal experiences of coping with the symptoms of AS.
