Greetings,
I am Ja Guang, director of the Institute for
Study of Jogye Order, Dongguk University.

I would like to express my gratitude to everyone who participated in the “3rd Seoul International Meditation Expo”, sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, hosted by Dongguk University, the prestigious Buddhist private school.
This year, the Seoul International Meditation Expo will be held under the theme of “2022 Meditation, New World”, which needs to be addressed in the post-COVID-19 era, the time when desperately requires harmony among people and social cooperation.
This Expo has been prepared based on the wisdom and teachings of the Buddha, and it is a new beginning that will help people take a step forward to daily practice easily while taking control of the body and mind. I do not doubt that all participants will find valuable courage and hope through this event.
According to the Greater Discourse on Steadfast Mindfulness, awareness is most important in meditation. I hope that all participants will take this valuable opportunity to remove defilements and suffering and become aware of the freedom of their minds.
Also, I would like to express my gratitude once again to all those joining the “3rd Seoul International Meditation Expo”, including religious circles, academia, and all those involved in organizing this event.
I look forward to the continuous further development of Korean Buddhism and meditation culture and join my both hands together to wish you all the wisdom and mercy of Buddha always.
Thank you.
Ven. Jaguang
